Impact Coatings AB (publ) has received an order for an INLINECOATER™ IC2000 from Feintool Precision System Parts (Taicang), a fully-owned subsidiary of Feintool Group (Switzerland). Feintool Group is a global leader in precision sheet metal technologies of fineblanking, forming, and electro-lamination stamping, as well as high performance fuel cell bipolar plate fineforming. The IC2000 system will be used by the Chinese subsidiary in the manufacturing of fuel cell bipolar plates. The system delivery will take place as soon as practically possible based on IC2000 systems being available with short delivery times. The order value is in the EUR 2-2.5 million range.
“The Chinese fuel cell industry continues to be a growth engine for us. The strategy enables Impact Coatings to deliver IC2000 systems for fuel cell and electrolyzer applications quickly, thereby contributing to production scale-up in the hydrogen sector in all geographic markets.

(“Boyuan”), a specialist in precise forming technology for fuel cell metal plates. Boyuan ordered and received its first PVD coating system for fuel cell plates from Impact Coatings in 2022. Delivery of the new IC2000 is planned for 2024. The order value is in the EUR 2 million range.

The system order follows on a Letter of Intent signed on June 22 and described in a press release the same day, in which Boyuan has selected Impact Coatings as a strategic supplier of PVD coating equipment for the production of fuel cell bipolar and monopolar plates at the company’s production sites in China, Mexico and other regions. The now ordered IC2000 system is to be installed in Boyuan’s factory in China.

According to the Letter of Intent, Boyuan has selected Impact Coatings as a strategic supplier of PVD Coating Equipment for the production of fuel cell bipolar and monopolar plates at Boyuan’s production sites in China, Mexico and other regions. Boyuan has the long-term intention to invest in coating equipment from Impact Coatings for all of its production sites, starting with the site in China. Impact Coatings expresses in the Letter of Intent its commitment to further develop coating materials, machines, and processes to meet the future market requirements of cost-efficient coatings for metal plates for fuel cells.

Impact Coatings AB (publ) has received a system order for an INLINECOATER™ IC2000 from SEKSUN Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer of high-precision metal parts for the automotive industry. The system will be used for coating metal bipolar plates for fuel cells. Impact Coatings received an initial IC2000 order for delivery to SEKSUN in 2023, which was delivered during Q4 2023. Delivery of the second IC2000 system is planned for 2024. The order value is in the EUR 2 million range.
“This order is further proof of the ongoing build-up of a supply chain for fuel cells in China, primarily for mobility applications,” said Yaowen Wang, Regional President China at Impact Coatings.
Impact Coatings meddelar att aktiviteten i bolagets Coating Service Center Sverige hittills under det fjärde kvartalet inte har motsvarat de förväntningar om fortsatt hög aktivitetsnivå som kommunicerades i samband med delårsrapporten för det tredje kvartalet 2023. Den lägre aktiviteten är huvudsakligen kopplad till försenade ordrar inom elektrolys, där bolaget har en huvudkund. Även om planerade volymer fortfarande förväntas komma innebär förseningar i orderingång att Impact Coatings inte bedömer sig hinna producera och fakturera på samma nivå som under de andra och tredje kvartalen 2023. Som beskrevs i delårsrapporten för det tredje kvartalet befinner sig tillverkningen av elektrolysstackar i en upprampningsfas där timing och storlek på beläggningsordrar varierar.
Som ett resultat av den lägre aktiviteten har Coating Service Center Sverige gått ner i enskiftsproduktion, men är redo att åter rampa upp. Parallellt jobbar bolaget med att gå från tester och provserier till volymproduktion åt en bredare kundbas inom bland annat elektrolys.
Bolaget avser att offentliggöra sin rapport för det fjärde kvartalet och helåret 2023 som planerat den 16 februari 2024.
Impact Coatings announces that the activity level at its Coating Service Center Sweden during the fourth quarter so far has not met the expectation of a continued high level of activity as communicated in the third quarter 2023 interim report. The lower activity is mainly linked to delayed orders in electrolysis, where the company has a primary customer. Although planned volumes are still expected, delays in the receipt of orders imply that Impact Coatings expects to have insufficient time to produce and invoice at the same level as in the second and third quarters of 2023. As described in the third quarter 2023 interim report, the production of electrolysis stacks is in a ramp-up phase during which order timing and size can vary.
As a result of the lower activity, the Coating Service Center Sweden has transitioned to single-shift production but is prepared to ramp up again when needed. In parallel, the company is working on moving from tests and sample series to volume production for a wider customer base within electrolysis and other application areas.
As planned, the company intends to publish its report for the fourth quarter and full year 2023 on February 16, 2024.
